Hiring a full-time Administrative Assistant III to join our team at our Southwood Interventions program located on the south side of Chicago.

Location: 5701 S. Wood St., Chicago, IL 60636

As an Administrative Assistant III, you will provide specialized administrative support to our Intake & Outpatient departments. In this role, you will assist in obtaining the patient’s medical history, physical and mental state, special requirements and needs by asking them a variety of questions.

Attention to detail, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external customers are key in this role.

Salary: $18.50 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Shift: 10am - 6:30pm, Monday - Friday

As an Administrative Assistant III, you will:

• Speaking with individuals to get their personal (medical, mental or legal) history and ascertaining their mental and physical state.
• Using the gathered information to guide them to the right service, department or office.
• Obtaining emergency contact information
• Coordinating schedules and appointments
• Obtaining insurance or billing information
• Processing paperwork
• Ensuring forms have the proper signatures and that they're filled out correctly.
• Answering and taking note of incoming inquires via phone, fax or email.
• Following up with clients and sharing vital information.
• Provide relief to cover other admin duties as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by Clinical Supervisor, Clinic Coordinator, or Executive Director.
• Adhere to confidentiality practices and procedures according to agency policies and HIPAA regulations.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma required. As associate degree or Medical Billing Certificate preferred.
• 3 to 5 years' experience as administrative assistant or two (2) years of Medicaid and/or Managed Care billing.
• Bilingual (English / Spanish) Preferred.

Other Qualifications:

• At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Criminal clearances, drug screening (we do not test for THC) and TB testing.
• Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
